Term 3 Timetable!

This is my timetable that shows what i'm doing this term and how well i'm doing it. It also shows my goals for this term too. This term i'm looking forward going to Mount Hutt and skiing down the mountain on week 7. Hope you like my timetable!!!

Hero Project

Hi this is my project about one of our New Zealand heros and the hero I picked was Ingrid Visser and I will be showing the answers of some questions you might want to know about her.

1. How did Ingrid Visser become a Hero?

She became a hero by traveling to about 50 countries on a sailing boat and rescuing heaps of orca and finding out about them.

2. Why does Ingrid Visser want to Rescue Orca?

Ever since she was 6 yrs she loved whales and dolphins. She meet Sir David Attenborough and he said that no one has studied orca so ingrid started to study orca and she also rescued them.

3. What is Ingrid's Message?  

Ingrid's message is that we are polluting the sea and this is not good because orca are the top of the food chain and these toxins are damaging the orca.

Mid Year Reflections

We go to kapahaka every Wednesday and we sing and we do actions in kapahaka. I enjoy kapahaka and here is a video of Rimu class (Rimu is the class I am in) and Kauri class doing kapahaka.

The man and the statue - my 100WC!

This week for our 100WC we had to write a conversation between a man and a statue sitting on a bench. We had to write 3 drafts and improve it each time. We had to make it exactly 100 words in the last draft. I found it hard putting in the description and then writing it all over again and making it 100 words. It was a good idea to do 3 drafts because you can do it step and step until you're a pro!

     

A man was walking by and took a seat beside a statue. This statue was brown and had a top hat and a big beard. Then he heard the statue say,

“Well let me tell you something about me, I am a very famous man that sits here all day long.”

The man said,

“Where do you live?”

The statue said,

“I live here.”

Then the man looked up. He saw that he was talking to a statue. He looked around, people staring and saying,

“What a weird man that talks to a statue?”

Now the man was all embarrassed.
